Stevens Equipment Rental stay loyal to Volvo brand

New Volvo ADTs for Stevens Equipment Rental

Mobile plant supplier invests in new fleet of Volvo machines including A30G articulated haulers

WITH a working relationship reaching as far back as the 1980s, Cumbria-based Stevens Equipment Rental have reaffirmed their commitment to SMT GB by placing an order for an additional 37 new Volvo machines.

Ordered as part of a fleet renewal and expansion programme, the new Volvo CE fleet deal consists of 12 A30G articulated haulers, seven A45Gs, three L90H wheel loaders, four L120Hs, four L150Hs, a L110H unit, five L180H loading shovels and two L260H loaders.

The robust design, high uptime and long service life that characterizes both the A30G and A45G ADTs ensures that Stevens Equipment Rental’s customers benefit from maximised productivity, whether the machines are used on quarrying, mining or earthmoving applications.

The articulated haulers also benefit from the inclusion of a wide range of optional features including: 360° cameras; skip-up buzzers, reversing radars; and deep tread tyres.

To meet the demands of rental customers, all the newly ordered wheel loaders feature quick hitch couplers, third line hydraulics, autolube systems and reversible fans, as well as a full range of attachments to suit a variety of applications.

The latest loaders also come equipped with Load Assist, which provides operators with a wide range of operation-optimizing software solutions, such as an on-board weighing system, real-time site maps, a unit conversion calculator and a weather monitoring app.

The new Stage V-compliant machines will benefit from the addition of Volvo’s CareTrack telematics system, helping fleet managers to track productivity, fuel efficiency and machine condition. This ensures the customers’ productivity and uptime are maximized, while their fuel and maintenance costs are reduced.

Commenting on the company’s recent order with SMT GB, Andrew Stevens, director of Stevens Equipment Rental, said: ‘They’re well received in the marketplace. We find that they are easy to rent out because everybody wants to rent a Volvo over other brands, especially in the ADT market.

‘We find that they are reliable and command strong residual values. From an operator’s perspective, they are good to use and the cabs are a nice and comfortable environment to be in.’
