Demolition firm accelerates commitment to net zero in line with SBTi 1.5°C framework

THE Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated Keltbray’s targets to reduce their carbon emissions.

Science-based targets give companies a clearly defined path to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with limiting global warming to 1.5°C. They define how much and how quickly a business must reduce its emissions to be in line with the Paris Agreement goals.

According to the SBTi, Keltbray’s targets are adequate and consistent with the global effort to keep temperatures below the 2°C threshold, as agreed at the COP21 world climate conference in Paris.

Keltbray’s ambitious 1.5°C-aligned target has been commended by the SBTi and is currently the most ambitious designation available through the SBTi process. The SBTi validation team has approved the company’s commitment to reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 46.4% by 2030 from a 2019 base year.

Ultimately, Keltbray will approximately halve their total GHG emissions by 2030.
