Rigid tipper inclinometer from Transport Support

Transport Support's rigid tipper inclinometer

Cost-effective in-cab solution to help combat the problem of overturning tipper vehicles

IT has been known for many years that the overturning of tipper vehicles has been a major problem within the transport industry, but whilst health and safety guidelines have been issued and tilt-table tests undertaken, ultimately it is still the driver who has full responsibility and control during the tipping process.

Transport Support’s inclinometer systems are designed to provide drivers of tipper vehicles with a cost-effective solution to the problem of vehicle overturns, by taking the guesswork out of tipping and providing a clear indication of the vehicle’s angle before tipping takes place.

The TS Rigid Inclinometer has been specially designed to meet the needs of rigid tipper vehicle operators by displaying the angle of the vehicle using a series of 15 ultra-bright LEDs (seven left, one indicating zero, and seven right).

The LEDs are arranged in various colours to represent the increase in vehicle angle: 0–2 are green; 3–4 are amber; and 5–7 are red. The TS Rigid Inclinometer control unit, which measures just 130mm x 65mm x 25mm and can be easily installed in any cab, operates off 12–24V supply and features a mute facility, three variable maximum-angle settings, and a self-test.

Offering a cost-effective solution for six- and eight-wheel tippers, the system comprises an in-cab display unit, pneumatic valve, IP68 talking warning sounder (85dB), IP68 sensor cover complete with 3D sensor, and a protective ABS cover.
