Preview of new Powerscreen impact crusher at US open day

Ian Williamson, sales manager, Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic with a customer

On 20-21 November Powerscreen customers, distributors and the media from across North America attended an open day to preview the new Powerscreen Trakpactor 320SR impact crusher in advance of its USA launch at ConExpo – Con/Agg in March 2014. Also working on display at the open day were a Premiertrak 400 jaw crusher, a 1000 Maxtrak cone crusher and a Warrior 1400X mobile screen.

The event was held at the Carolina Sunrock facility near Franklinton, North Carolina. Carolina Sunrock are privately owned construction materials suppliers who have been Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic customers for years and who, over 60 years, have grown from being a small sand and gravel business to one of the state’s premier aggregate suppliers. Carolina Sunrock operate a variety of Powerscreen mobile crushers and screens across their range of sites producing aggregates and products used by world-class clients like Duke University, Camp Lejeune and Norfolk Southern Railway.

According to Ian Williamson, sales manager for Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic: ‘The open day was a huge success with a lot of very positive feedback from customers on the equipment exhibited, especially the new Trakpactor 320SR crusher. This machine has a lot of interesting features which we’re sure will make it a very popular model here in North America.’

Trakpactor 320SR impact crusher

The Trakpactor 320SR is a mid-sized horizontal impact crusher redesigned with some key enhancements to offer operators and contractors excellent reduction and high consistency of product shape for performance in quarry and recycling applications. The plant is capable of working in the most demanding environments and features rapid set-up time, a fuel-efficient direct-drive system and excellent output potential of up to 320 tonnes/h (352 US tons/h). The plant features a recirculating conveyor which raises for transport allowing more ground clearance under the machine when moving on site and loading for transport. One of the most exciting features of the Trakpactor 320SR crusher is the quick-detach post-screen section which converts it to a standard Trakpactor 320 unit. This provides operators with versatility to use the machine in a variety of different applications.

Premiertrak 400 jaw crusher

The Premiertrak 400 high-performance primary jaw crusher was designed for medium-scale operators in quarrying, demolition, recycling and mining applications and offers an output potential of up to 400 tonnes/h (441 US tons/h).

The Premiertrak 400 features hydraulic adjust, whilst the Premiertrak R400 model offers hydraulic release. User benefits include track mobility for a quick set-up time, typically under 30 minutes, hydraulic crusher setting adjustment for total control of product size and crusher overload protection to prevent damage by uncrushable objects.

Warrior 1400X screen
The Warrior 1400X screen was designed with economy in mind. With reduced engine running speed and enhanced hydraulics, the Warrior 1400X screen offers reduced fuel consumption of up to 15% in comparison to its predecessor, which helps lower operating costs and provides a substantial saving for customers over the lifetime of the machine.

Visit Powerscreen at ConExpo 2014, Terex booth 1047 on the Gold Lot, to see the Premiertrak 300, Trakpactor 320SR and Warrior 2100 units on display.
