Hyva make it a treble with Mick George Ltd

Hyva tipping gear

Contractor chooses Hyva to be its preferred supplier of tippers, skiploaders and hookloaders

WASTE-management and haulage firm Mick George are currently halfway through an extensive 2016 fleet-update programme, which will see up to 100 new vehicles added to their road haulage business. The rapidly growing equipment fleet will be specified exclusively with brand new Hyva tipping gear, skiploaders and hookloaders.

Among the latest vehicles to be delivered to Mick George are two Hyva skiploaders built on 18-tonne gvw Mercedes-Benz Econic chassis for working in and around Cambridge city centre. As the first examples of Mick George’s drive towards introducing specific ‘City Safety Vehicles’, these trucks feature low-entry cabs for superior forward and sideways vision for drivers. With the first two Hyva-fitted Econics in service, another five similar models are expected to join the fleet.

For more general skiploader operations, Mick George will be bolstering their fleet with the addition of 30 Hyva skiploader units mounted on DAF LF chassis. These trucks are specially designed for general skiploader work by offering both increased ground clearance and lower unladen weight.

For hookloaders, five of Hyva’s latest Titan models  will join the company’s extensive 8x4 hookloader fleet. Lighter, more powerful and faster in operation than previous designs, Titan’s key feature is its fully bolted construction that makes installation, maintenance and repair considerably easier, boosting performance and productivity for the end-user.

In terms of tippers, more than 50 new units will be included as part of Mick George Ltd’s 2016 fleet-upgrade programme, all featuring Hyva’s latest FC137 tipping gear along with steel and aluminium bodies built by either Wilcox or Fruehauf. Weighing 450kg, the FC137 has a separate ram and tank design which reduces weight and fitting time and keeps operational costs to a minimum.

Mike Taylor, managing director of Hyva, said: ‘Mick George have risen rapidly to become a real leader in the UK’s tipping, aggregates, waste-handling and recycling industries. Hyva always strive to offer the most advanced, intelligent and best-designed products possible, and we are delighted that our equipment continues to play a key part in Mick George’s ongoing growth and success.’
