Road-planing specialist takes delivery of new W100Fi cold-planing unit and five Volvo Tridem trucks

JET Plant Hire, one of the UK’s leading road-planing contractors, have bolstered their equipment fleet with new sustainable, top-of-the-range machinery as part of their ambitious five-year growth strategy.

Jet have recently taken delivery of a new Wirtgen W100Fi road planer, with two additional Wirtgen machines due to join the fleet in the coming months. The advanced W100Fi model delivers 25% lower CO₂ emissions than its predecessor and is supported by an integrated performance tracker, providing customers with transparent, efficient reporting on every project.

The company – now in its 36th year of operation – continues to build on its strong reputation for ethical business practices, robust operational processes, and a long-standing commitment to sustainability.

Further strengthening their industry-leading fleet, Jet have also purchased five new Volvo Tridem trucks. These eight-wheel vehicles offer the same manoeuvrability as traditional six-wheel tippers but deliver a significantly increased payload.

They help reduce environmental impact by lowering CO₂ emissions and minimizing road congestion. The new additions follow the successful introduction of six Tridems already in operation.

John Lee, operations director at Jet Plant Hire, said: ‘We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built for setting the standard for sustainable road planing through innovation over the past 36 years. Updating our equipment to ensure that we’re as efficient and sustainable as possible is a key part of that success. I’m confident that our new Wirtgen planers and Tridem vehicles will enable us to continue providing the best service and value for our customers.’
