French screening success for Hercules Trommels

Hercules trommel screen

Quarrying firm in southern France takes delivery of second Hercules trommel screen from Stelex

STELEX Construction Equipment Ltd have recently installed one of their latest HT182 heavy-duty static trommels for a quarry customer in the south of France.

The customer has been operating an existing Hercules trommel in one of its quarries since 2004. This machine received a planned overhaul by Stelex in 2011 after seven years of hard service.

The new HT182 has been installed at another of the company’s sites where it is helping to produce clean, sized products from a 900mm contaminated feed material.

Stelex say the recovery of additional stone from the feed material is helping to reduce waste at the quarry, giving added value to the customer’s existing quarry reserves for many years to come.

The HT182, which is rated up to 500 tonnes/h, is currently producing two sizes plus oversize from the feed material, which is fed directly into the heavy-duty feed hopper from a dumptruck.

The trommel itself is mounted on a steel frame with access platforms on both sides to provide safe access for routine inspections etc.

All Hercules machines are built at the Stelex factory in Shropshire and the company says many options are available to suit customers’ specific project requirements.
