Bauma: A wide range of innovative solutions from Liebherr

Liebherr R934 excavator

Latest machines, equipment and attachment tools to go on show for the first time

WITH their overarching message, ‘Together. Now & Tomorrow’, Liebherr will be giving bauma visitors an opportunity to see their latest innovations first-hand, ranging from construction machines and material-handling equipment through to mining product developments and components.

This year Liebherr will be introducing their new-generation crawler excavators and seven new models will be initially launched in the 22–45 tonne range. According to Liebherr, the eighth-generation excavators have been designed to deliver more power, increased productivity, improved safety and greater comfort for the operator.

Among the exhibits taking centre stage on the German company’s stand will be the new R 934 crawler excavator (based on the R 938 platform) that meets Stage V emission standards. The R 934 and R 938 machines have operating weights of 35 tonnes and 38 tonnes, and achieve 272hp and 299hp, respectively.

A wide range of equipment and tools will be made available to help make the R 934 and R 938 crawler excavators versatile for earthmoving, levelling, digging, loading and lifting. In addition, the digging forces and tractive forces of the undercarriages, and the swing torque of the uppercarriages, have been significantly increased compared to the previous generation machines.

As well as new machinery on show, Liebherr will also be presenting multiple intelligent assistance systems for their XPower wheel loaders. These include: a new active rear person recognition unit and; a sensor-supported, integrated tyre pressure monitoring system.

With these assistance systems available, Liebherr are able to offer integrated solutions for optimizing safety and comfort in day-to-day wheel loader operations.

Another worldwide premiere at bauma 2019 for Liebherr is a new intuitive steering system that will be available for all mid-size and large series models. From the smallest wheel loader, the L 506 compact, to the largest model, the L 586 XPower, Liebherr will be displaying a cross section of all wheel loader size classes, including their brand new premium stereoloaders in the small loader category – the L 509 speeder and L 518 stereo.

In the mining area of the stand, visitors will be able to see the Ultra-class mining trucks and excavators, while on display elsewhere will be the redeveloped 42 M5 XXT automatic concrete pump system and new Liebherr Powerdrive unit for the construction sector.
