Willy Dohmen make it a Liebherr machine double

Liebherr L 580 XPower wheel loader

German mineral operator takes delivery of two new L 580 XPower wheel loaders

WILLY Dohmen Group have strengthened their mobile plant fleet with the addition of two new Liebherr L 580 XPower wheel loaders. The company says it has been impressed by the operational benefits offered by the machine, which combines fuel efficiency, high performance, robustness and comfort.

Positive experiences with the previous generation model also influenced Willy Dohmen’s purchase decision, as a company spokesman said: ‘We already have other Liebherr large wheel loaders in operation. These include several L 576 and L 586 models from the previous series. We are very happy with these machines and Liebherr are reliable service partners.’

The new L 580 XPower wheel loaders are currently based at Willy Dohmen’s 800,000 sq m gravel plant near Geilenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, where the machines are shifting up to 3,000 cubic metres of sand, gravel and crushed material per day to feed the processing facilities.

The 29-tonne XPower machines are equipped with a powerful Z-lift arm and backfill bucket, and deliver a tipping load of 19,500kg.

Lower fuel consumption was a critical factor in the company’s decision to purchase the Liebherr loaders and each machine, on average, is consuming 13 litres of diesel per hour regardless of the application.
