South Korean OEM marks three decades of expansion, engineering excellence and new machine launches

HYUNDAI Construction Equipment are celebrating three decades of strong, sustained growth across Europe, driven by an expanding product line-up, a committed dealer network, and a clear focus on innovation and engineering excellence. The company continues to push boundaries, designing and manufacturing the next generation of construction machinery for operators across the continent.

From its European headquarters in Tessenderlo-Ham, Belgium, the South Korean OEM is on track to become a top five global construction equipment manufacturer. This year alone, the business has rolled out a new dozer, materials handler, skid-steer and compact tracked loaders, further strengthening its established ranges of wheel loaders, mini excavators, and crawler and wheeled excavators.

Hyundai have also unveiled their Next Generation crawler excavators, setting new benchmarks in productivity, operator control, and technological sophistication.

The company’s energy-neutral European headquarters, opened near Brussels in 2017, reinforces its long-term commitment to the region. The site features a state-of-the-art training academy, extensive parts warehousing, a dedicated machine demonstration zone, and first-class facilities designed to deliver a VIP customer and dealer experience.

‘Over the last 30 years, Hyundai has become a leading player in the European construction equipment sector,’ said Maurizio Chiarotti, sales director Europe of Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe.
‘Our ambition is to be a top five player in the market, and we are moving steadily toward that goal. With an expanded range of equipment, a strong network of dealer partners, dedicated support for national accounts, and a loyal customer community, we are building a solid foundation for success.’

Hyundai first entered the European construction equipment market in 1995, launching an assembly line in Geel, Belgium. Production returned to South Korea in 2001 to improve efficiency and profitability, while the EU Customisation Centre (EUCUP) relocated several times – most recently in 2019 to a modern, fully equipped facility in Aertssen.
