Volvo CE appoint new head of HR

Ann-Sofie Räftegård appointed as head of human resources at Volvo Construction Equipment

WITH effect from 1 October 2019 at the latest, Ann-Sofie Räftegård will take up the role of senior vice-president of human resources at Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) and become a member of the executive management team.

Reporting to company president Melker Jernberg, Ms Räftegård (pictured) will lead the company’s human resources by driving talent management, compensation and benefits, workforce planning, diversity and engagement of Volvo CE’s global workforce of more than 14,000 people.

 

Commenting on her appointment, she said: ‘I am very excited to join the Volvo Group and Volvo Construction Equipment. Besides joining a recognized and interesting company and brand, I see myself joining a journey and an industry in transformation with endless opportunities to connect people and business for success. That is what inspires me.’

Ms Räftegård joins Volvo having spent more than three years at the Swedish Höganäs Group as senior vice-president of human resources. Prior to this she held key roles at IKEA, Daimler/Mercedes Benz, Johns Manville and Perstorp.

Ms Räftegård, who will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden, will replace Diana Niu, who took up the role of executive vice-president of human resource management for the Volvo Group on 1 January 2019.
