Tyre Change

Michelin and China Coal Pingshuo sign three-year renewable contract for the provision and maintenance of the tyres used on Komatsu 930E dumptrucks

Michelin and China Coal Pingshuo, China’s largest opencast coal mine, have signed a three-year renewable contract for the provision and maintenance of the 53/80R63 tyres used on the Komatsu 930E trucks operating at the mine.

The service contract will help to extend the life of the 63in tyres, thereby keeping the mine vehicles operational for longer periods. This, in turn, will help to reduce the mine’s operating costs and increase productivity, while maintaining the highest levels of safety at the site.

As part of the contract, specialist Michelin technicians, in co-operation with teams from China Coal Pingshuo, will manage the mine’s service shop where the tyres are fitted, removed and repaired, and will carry out various operations aimed at optimizing tyre use.
