Shropshire aggregates firm expands fleet with new A45G articulated haulers and EC380EL excavator

TUDOR Griffiths Group, in Ellesmere, have taken delivery of two new Volvo A45G articulated haulers and an EC380EL excavator.

Jamie Jones, fleet manager for TG Group, said the Volvos were welcome additions to the company’s 260-strong fleet of vehicles, ranging from a vintage Commer van dating back to 1955, to the very latest arrivals.

‘We have taken delivery of a new Volvo EC380EL excavator and two Volvo A45G articulated haulers that will make a real difference to our operations and head office,’ he commented.

‘Our Wood Lane Quarry is the largest sand and gravel site in the local area, and they will help us to sustain supplies of aggregates to our concrete plants in Wales and the surrounding border counties, including Shropshire, Cheshire and Worcestershire.’

Mr Jones continued: ‘As well as a commitment to supplying the highest quality sand, gravel and aggregates, we also pride ourselves in operating our quarries in an environmentally responsible and sustainable way.

‘The new vehicles, through their very latest technology and fuel efficiency, will help us to ensure we operate a fleet that minimizes the impact we have on the environment wherever we can.’

The Volvo EC380EL excavator has been designed to operate in tough day-to-day working environments, including quarries. When selected, the machine’s Eco mode provides better fuel efficiency without loss of performance in most operating conditions.

The A45G haulers are bigger, more durable and superior versions of the previous articulated hauler model. They have been designed especially for heavy hauling in severe off-road conditions, allowing operators to move more tonnes per hour with an increased six-tonne payload.
