Transatlantic honour

JCB chairman Sir Anthony Bamford has been honoured in New York by a leading transatlantic business organization. The 2003 Entrepreneurial Award was presented to Sir Anthony by British American Business Inc. at a special awards dinner honouring outstanding business leaders.

Since Sir Anthony took over as chairman of JCB in 1975 following the retirement of his father, company founder Joseph Cyril Bamford, the company’s sales have increased from £43 million to well over £800 million a year.

The award was made particularly special by being presented on 23 October, the 58th anniversary of the founding of JCB and the 58th birthday of Sir Anthony.
