Truck purchases driven by vehicle reliability and availability, customer service and competitive deals

J CLUBB Ltd, one of Kent’s leading suppliers of concrete and aggregates, have strengthened their 22-strong delivery fleet with the acquisition of three new Renault trucks.

A 44-tonne Range T480 6x2 tractor unit with Fruehauf tipping trailer, and two 32-tonne Range C380 8x4s with 8 cubic metre McPhee concrete mixer bodies are now delivering concrete and aggregates from quarries and wharves to customers across the South East.

Explaining why the company opted for Renault Trucks, J Clubb’s works director, Colin Dring, said: ‘Our purchasing decisions are primarily driven by vehicle reliability, customer service and delivery schedule, as well as competitive deals, and we felt that Renault Trucks offered a competitive package when considered against other manufacturers.’

Renault Trucks’ service and backup was another crucial factor in vehicle selection, as transport co-ordinator David Atkinson explained: ‘The flexibility of the Renault Trucks dealer network is a big plus. The customer service is uniformly very good, friendly and helpful.

‘They will also collect a truck when it goes in for servicing, which means the driver has time to deliver an extra load during the day, which is a huge bonus in our hectic schedules.’

Mr Atkinson continued: ‘Truck reliability and driver appeal are also extremely important to us. Our vehicles are heavily utilized, so it’s vital that they don’t let us down. All our drivers appreciate the ease of operation and comfort offered by the Renault Trucks cab, and the automatic gearbox is a huge plus.

‘All in all, the new T480 tractor unit is unbelievable – it’s an HGV that drives like an MPV, and with Renault Trucks’ products, availability and competitive deals, it’s no wonder we are currently purchasing more Renault Trucks.’
