Tarmac expand operational footprint in Cumbria
Company takes full ownership of Tendley Quarries Ltd, including two quarries and an asphalt plant
TARMAC are now supplying customers and major projects across Cumbria, with their move to full ownership of Tendley Quarries Ltd (TQL), which previously operated as a joint venture.
The acquisition enhances Tarmac’s sustainable supply capabilities and supports the delivery of essential materials to key projects in the Cumbria region. The sites include a limestone quarry and asphalt plant at Tendley, and a sand and gravel quarry at Peel Place.
‘We are excited about the potential this acquisition brings to our operations and the communities we serve,’ said Shaun Davidson, managing director of Tarmac’s North and Scotland Region. ‘This move will enable us to better support key projects and enhance our sustainable service delivery in the region.’
Committed to fostering strong partnerships with local communities, Tarmac say they will continue to work closely with community stakeholders to ensure that their operations benefit the local economy and environment and contribute to the overall well-being of the communities surrounding the quarries.
