Sykes Pumps launch new ‘quieter’ pump

Pumping specialists Sykes Pumps have continued their ongoing investment in new equipment with the addition of the HS Orion HS200 pump to their existing range of medium- and high-head pumpsets.

Designed to offer extreme flexibility for multi-application pumping needs, the new HS200 unit operates at a noise level of just 80dBA at a distance of 1m and produces up to 484kW of power at 1,600 rev/min, providing a typical pumping performance of up to 1,300m3/h with a standard impeller. A wide range of impellers can be used in the pump, making it suitable for the most abrasive slurry, including sand and gravel.

‘The HS200 complements our specialist medium- and high-head units and expands the extensive range we already have available, which represents a significant investment geared towards meeting the needs of our customers on site,’ said Bob Willoughby, technical director of Sykes Pumps.

‘The HS200 pump is ideal for customers who may have more than one pumping need on site, as they will be able to adapt the same unit to different applications simply by changing the impeller. In addition, for any customers that might have to run the pump throughout the night, the unit’s acoustic canopy means that they can do so without exceeding any noise restrictions.’
