SigmaRoc innovation and investment arm leads funding round to advance digital and low-carbon logistics

SKREENHOUSE Ventures, the innovation and investment arm of SigmaRoc focused on advancing technology across the raw materials and construction value chains, has led a €1 million seed funding round in Koncrete, a French construction technology start-up. The investment supports efforts to digitize procurement and logistics in the building materials sector and reflects Skreenhouse’s focus on scalable, data-driven infrastructure solutions.

Founded in 2023, Koncrete enable construction professionals to obtain real-time quotes, compare supplier pricing, and co-ordinate logistics through a unified digital platform. In their first year of operation, the start-up has referenced over 2,800 suppliers, delivered to more than 10,000 construction sites, and facilitated the transport of hundreds of thousands of tonnes of materials.

The funding will be used to support Koncrete’s continued growth in France, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and data-driven logistics.

Koncrete are also advancing a set of environmental initiatives aimed at reducing the carbon impact of building materials logistics. These include:

  • Integrating recycled materials from demolition into supply chains

  • Minimizing empty return trips through freight optimization

  • Reducing average transport distances (currently 26km, below the 32 km national average).

Fons Vermorken, group ExCo member - Innovate at SigmaRoc, commented: ‘Koncrete are building essential infrastructure for the future of building materials logistics – efficient, data-driven, and lower carbon. We are pleased to support the team in scaling a solution that aligns with our commitment to industrial innovation and sustainability.’
