Saint-Gobain Rigips step up customer interactions

Sixfold

Gypsum and plaster products leader adopts real-time AI-based shipment visibility platform

SAINT-Gobain Rigips, one of the world’s leading providers of gypsum and plaster products, are adopting Sixfold’s live logistics visibility platform to allow their sales teams and planners to provide customers with real-time data on shipments.

Sixfold, who claim to be Europe’s leading independent providers of secure supply-chain visibility services, say their technology is system agnostic and integrates with all transport-management systems, truck telematics, mapping data, and predictive analytics.

Saint-Gobain Rigips’ customers will now be provided with live data on the status of shipments through Sixfold’s AI-based visibility platform and be able to track the status of goods in transit for the first time without calls to carriers.

As a result, Sixfold say the firm’s customers will be able to better plan resources for receiving inbound logistics and expect to achieve operational gains of up to 30%.

‘Saint-Gobain Rigips’ global business has long been built upon product excellence and customer relations,’ said Thomas Muschalla, project leader of Saint-Gobain Rigips’ supply-chain management team.

‘By embracing Sixfold’s real-time shipments visibility technology, we now have a formidable user interface for transport reporting and performance and can raise the bar in customer interactions.’

Mr Muschalla added: ‘Customer support received from Sixfold’s onboarding teams in the project’s set-up phase was quite remarkable and accelerated the dawn of our real-time customer-centric shipment strategy.’

Saint-Gobain Rigips, who offer products such as plaster, plasterboard and others composed of gypsum, market their goods worldwide and are a joint customer of Sixfold and Transporeon, Europe’s largest logistics network.

Sixfold are the exclusive shipments visibility providers for the entire Transporeon network and facilitate logistics knowledge on more than 50,000 shipments daily. The network comprises more than 1,200 shippers in the manufacturing and retailing industries.

Integrated into Transporeon’s systems, Saint-Gobain Rigips’ transport planners will now be able to share Sixfold’s unique artificial intelligence (AI) predictive estimated time of arrival (ETA) platform with customers and provide them with a live shipment tracking link.

‘Clearly, we are delighted that yet another business leader has embraced the Sixfold platform to better engage with customers and gain business advantage,’ said Wolfgang Wörner, Sixfold’s chief executive officer. Today, live visibility of shipments is an essential tool for companies in whatever sector to improve supply chain processes.’
