New Stage IV products from Doosan

Doosan DL300-5 wheel loader

South Korean firm to exhibit and demonstrate new machines and several Bobcat products will be introduced to UK market

AMONG the wide range of Doosan and Bobcat products on show at Plantworx will be the first UK unveiling of the new Doosan ‘-5’ ranges of crawler/wheeled excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dumptrucks (ADTs), which all meet the latest Stage IV emission regulations.

Several Bobcat machines will be making their UK debuts too, including the new S450 skid-steer loader, E-17 to E20 compact excavators and a number of telehandler models.

The South Korean manufacturer has launched no less than nine Stage IV-compliant crawler excavators ranging from the 22-tonne DX235NLC-5 to the 52-tonne DX530LC-5 models, as well as the new DX170W-5 and DX210W-5 wheeled excavators, and high-performance DL300-5 to DL550-5 wheel loaders, replacing the successful Stage IIIB loaders introduced in 2012.

The new Stage IV machines are powered by either Doosan or Scania water-cooled diesel engines which offer convenience and lower costs by meeting Stage IV emission regulations without the need for a diesel particulate filter, through the use of cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and selective catalyst reduction (SCR) after-treatment technologies.

All of the latest machines, of which some will be on show and demonstration at Plantworx, offer enhanced comfort and controllability, together with new features to boost uptime and return on investment, with a key focus on increased power, robustness and agility. These advances are marked by a distinctive newly designed machine styling scheme for all LC-5 models.

Also on the Doosan stand will be new generators and compressors, including: the Stage IIIA-compliant G40-IIIA and G60-IIIA generators; and 7/125-10/110 Stage IIIB-compliant ‘dual-mode’ portable compressors.

Providing 40kVA and 60kVA prime power, respectively, the G40-IIIA and G60-IIIA models are part of the new platform of generators from Doosan and share a common design with the G80-IIIA to G200-IIIA units launched earlier. The Yanmar-powered G40-IIIA and John Deere-powered G60-IIIA generators are both available with electronic speed regulation (optional on the G60-IIIA model) providing, in addition to stability and better load take-over capabilities, a flexible dual frequency 50/60Hz working mode.

Among the other products on display will be the S450 skid-steer loader from Bobcat, which builds on the success of the S130 model it replaces, by combining the advantages offered by a truly compact loader with many of the new features and improvements found on the larger Bobcat new-generation models.

According to Bobcat, for the first time in a skid-steer loader model in this size class, the S450 loader is supplied with a fully pressurized cab with air-conditioning as an option. Other key features include increased hydraulic performance and efficiency; a new tailgate design; integrated rear bumper and enhanced serviceability.

The S450 skid-steer can be supplied with a wide choice of 48 different product families of Bobcat attachments (with more to come), offering solutions for a diverse range of applications.

The new range of Bobcat 1-2 tonne excavator models comprises the E17, E19 and E20 units. The new models are towable on trailers for up to 2,000kg, with transportability further enhanced by new tie-down points. An expandable undercarriage, automatic slew brake and advanced diagnostics and instrumentation are just some of the many standard features included on all three excavators.

Alongside the Bobcat compact loaders and excavators, the company will be presenting the new T35130S (13m lift height) and T35140S (14m) telehandlers aimed at the plant hire industry.
