New recycling plant for O’Brien Waste Recycling Solutions

O'Brien recycling facility

Waste-management firm announces plans for a new £6 million dry-mixed material plant on Teesside

O’BRIEN Waste Recycling Solutions are to open a new £6 million recycling facility at their Hartlepool operation. The dry-mixed material plant will be on the same site as the company’s existing skip waste recycling material recovery facility (MRF) which opened last year.

Around 50 new jobs are to be created as a result of the substantial investment on Teesside. Furthermore, O’Brien are planning to develop a new glass MRF at their Hartlepool site which will further expand the company’s recycling capacity and operation for processing glass materials.

Managing director Nathan O’Brien said: ‘We are committed to bringing new jobs to the Teesside area. We’re acutely aware of the ongoing concerns of secure employment in the area and we’re hoping, although not on a huge scale, to assist with this by developing our presence across the region.’

He added: ‘Our reputation in the North East as a responsive, service-driven business that deals with waste responsibly, is growing. As well as the recycling plant development we will be opening a new office in Hartlepool in 2017, which will house finance, admin, sales and contract managers to ensure that our service levels are met and our expansion continues across Teesside.’
