New Kiverco waste-recycling plants for R Collard

Collard Group

Company invests in high-performing reprocessing equipment to meet growing demand for recycled materials

HAMPSHIRE-based R Collard have announced the purchase of three new Kiverco waste-recycling plants for their depots in Nursling (Hampshire), Chilton (Oxfordshire) and Ewshot (Surrey).

The first of the waste-recovery plants will be delivered at Nursling next month (April), with all three systems installed and running by the end of May. In total, the new Kiverco equipment will process more than 150,000 tonnes per annum of incoming waste materials (eg concrete, brick, fines, non-ferrous metals, wood etc.) across all three sites.

Established in 1994, R Collard have grown to become one of the most prominent names in the recycling, demolition and construction products markets in the South East and surrounding areas.

The latest investment in the Kiverco plants is part of the company’s ongoing fleet-modernization programme to expand its recycling operations, improve equipment efficiency and further underline its environmental credentials to the UK waste-management sector.

Rob Collard, founder and managing director of Collard Group, commented: ‘We spent a lot of time looking at the companies capable of delivering high-end, reliable waste-processing plants and Kiverco came out on top.

‘We wanted to increase the throughput rates at each site whilst ensuring we were maximizing the quantity and quality of recycling, reuse and recovery. By increasing our processing at each site, we’re also able to reduce our vehicle miles and, therefore, our carbon footprint.

‘Kiverco are seen as the ‘Rolls-Royce’ of waste-processing plants and we are very confident that their systems will help us divert more waste from landfill and maximize our return on investment.’

Con Gallagher, global sales manager of Kiverco, added: ‘It was clear from our initial discussions that Rob [Collard] and his senior management team wanted a reliable, high-performance solution at each of their waste depots. We are delighted to be working with Collard Group to help them achieve their commercial and environmental objectives.’
