Mineral Products Association pays respects to passionate quarryman and founder of the BAA

THE Mineral Products Association (MPA) has paid tribute to Bob Durward, whose recent death was announced this week.

MPA chief executive Nigel Jackson said: ‘Bob was a passionate quarryman who fought hard to protect the interests of smaller family-owned companies, particularly from the unnecessary impacts of bad taxation and regulation. He will be remembered for his dogged determination to get rid of the Aggregates Levy, a resolve he never shrunk from for well over 15 years. He founded the British Aggregates Association (BAA) to further this important cause and its members will miss him sorely.’
