Hillhouse Group Ltd is a well-established family business and a leading independent supplier of Asphalt, Readymix, Aggregate & Concrete Blocks & Pre-cast concrete products in Scotland.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quarry Manager 8.1.(c) based at our Soutra Mains Quarry in Mid Lothian, just 12 miles south of Edinburgh.
Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the Health, Safety & Environmental performance of the site as well as managing the team to ensure production & quality are maintained to meet current ISO standards.
Candidates should be self-motivated, have good communication & management skills, and can effectively plan and organize multiple operations within the site. Possesses good leadership skills to promote a positive team working environment. You must be comfortable driving our Health & Safety culture as well as being focused on the needs of our customers.
It’s preferred that applicants have previous experience within the Quarry/Mining/Recycling/Construction sectors. The applicant would ideally have a Safety, Health & Environmental Management NVQ Level 4 or above, as well as sound knowledge of drill & Blast operations, crushing and screening applications along with a good mechanical understanding for maintenance activities, be an effective communicator with good problem-solving skills, and be computer literate using Microsoft systems such as Teams/Excel etc. A driving licence is essential for this post.
