Company celebrates inauguration of purpose-built consolidated engineering facility in Vadodara

METSO Outotec are celebrating the inauguration of a new engineering centre at Vadodara, in Gujarat state, India. Currently employing more than 90 persons, the new facility is set to quickly grow to more than 250 specialists covering several functions and capabilities, including engineering for various products, modernizations and upgrades, quotation support, logistics, procurement, and training and learning professionals.

‘I’m very excited to enter the new stage of Vadodara and Metso Outotec’s investment with this expansion,’ said Sami Takaluoma, president of the Services business area at Metso Outotec. ‘We decided two years ago to consolidate certain engineering capabilities to Vadodara. Now, with the new purpose-built facility, we are ready for the rapid expansion of our support to our customers and to answer to their growing needs around the world.’

Metso Outotec say combining engineering expertise to support a wide variety of products and equipment in one location will better serve customers and enable cross-functional best practices and knowledge sharing across the different functions.

In addition to the new engineering centre in Gujarat state, Metso Outotec have two foundries in Vadodara and Ahmedabad producing high-quality consumables and spare parts. The foundries employ around 700 persons.
