JCB power Kier

Kier Plant, part of the construction firm Kier Group, have purchased 10 JCB generators for use on their nationwide standby and primary power network. The generators, including two 300kVA G330Q models and one 200kVA G220Q, provide Kier with a combined electricity production capability of 1,248kW.

The units are already operating across the subsidiary’s UK network, including the provision of power to large tower cranes and self-erecting cranes, and a standby power installation at HMP Highdown in south London.

‘We chose JCB generators for the quality of the product range, the strong distribution set-up and the high-level service and parts back-up,’ said Kier Plant operations director Nick Thorpe. ‘We expect to place regular generator orders from now on’.

The units form part of an extensive 42-model range being offered by JCB, which was launched in early 2006. Powered by some of the world’s leading engines, such as the record-breaking JCB Dieselmax, models are available as single or three phase, 50Hz or 60Hz, in either open or sound-attenuated canopies. The units form part of an extensive 42-model range being offered by JCB, which were launched in early 2006.
