European success for Hyundai Heavy Industries

Hyundai R430LC-9A crawler excavator

Hyundai Finnish dealers Suomen Telakone Oy sell first R430LC-9A crawler excavator in Europe

SUOMEN Telakone Oy, Finnish importers of Hyundai construction machinery, have recently sold the first R430LC-9A crawler excavator in Europe to rock crushing firm Murskaus Rämö & Karén Oy.

The new 42.6-tonne Hyundai R430LC-9A is working alongside crushers and a screener shoveling rock with its 2.75 cubic yard capacity bucket (breakout force of 20,411kg). Murskaus Rämö & Karén Oy also have other Hyundai models in their fleet, including a 29-tonne R290LC-7A and 36-tonne R360LC-7 tracked excavator.

A spokesman for the company said: ‘We purchased the R430LC-9A because it’s the ideal machine for large civil engineering and quarrying work, which is our core business. We have other Hyundai machines in our fleet and they are reliable, hardworking, do the job in hand and also represent good value for money. The after-sales service we receive from Suomen Telakone is also very good; spare parts are always available and servicing is always fast.’

The R430LC-9A is powered by a low-emission Cummins QSL9 Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB engine, which offers a rated power output of 310hp (231kw). The engine features the Xtra-High Pressure Injection (XPI) fuel system, which delivers a constant stream of pressurized fuel across all engine rev/min speeds, providing cleaner combustion and improved engine response.

The engine is said to provide the lowest cost of operation in its class, offering customers the most economical and quiet operating machine with superior power and performance.

Hyundai -9A series excavators are engineered to be extremely fuel-efficient with a proven 5% fuel savings in comparison with previous models. Innovations such as a variable-speed remote fan, two-stage auto decel system and a new economy mode help to conserve fuel and reduce the impact on the environment.

As with existing models in the -9A series, the R430LC-9A features Hyundai’s Computer Aided Power Optimization (CAPO) system that allows operators to set their own preferences for boom or swing priority, power mode selection, including three working modes, P (Power), S (Standard) and E (Economy), and optional work tool settings at the touch of a button, to suit the task in hand.

Optimum precision has been achieved in the redesign of the hydraulic system. Improved pump flow control reduces flow when controls are not being used to minimize fuel consumption. And thanks to improved hydraulic valves, precision-designed variable piston pumps, fine-touch pilot controls, and enhanced travel functions, the operator has enhanced control of the machine during all operations.

The R430LC-9A also features Hyundai’s Hi-Mate telematics remote-management system, which provides operators and dealer service personnel direct access to vital service and diagnostic information on the machine from any computer with Internet access.

Users can pinpoint machine location using digital mapping and set machine work boundaries, reducing the need for multiple service calls. Hi-Mate saves time and money for the owner and dealer by promoting preventative maintenance and reducing machinery downtime.
