Doosan introduce new DX245NHD-7 crawler excavator

New Doosan DX245NHD-7 in operation

Latest Stage V-compliant machine designed to tackle the toughest working conditions

DOOSAN have announced the launch of the new Stage V-compliant DX245NHD-7 – a new addition to the company’s medium-sized range of crawler excavators.  The 25-tonne machine ¬– which has been specially developed to work under the most challenging applications – utilizes 30-tonne class undercarriage components; the chains, rollers, sprocket and the chassis itself are all oversized to increase the working lifetime of the excavator.

Stephane Dieu, excavator product specialist for Doosan, said: ‘The DX245NHD-7 adds a new highly sturdy option in the medium-sized range of crawler excavators from Doosan. With regards to the name of the machine, the ‘N’ stands for ‘Narrow Track’ and the ‘HD’ stands for ‘Heavy Duty’ illustrating its suitability for the most challenging applications. Complementing this, the ‘narrow’ design of the DX245NHD-7 offers the further advantage of a transportation width of only 2.54m.’

The DX245NHD-7 machine is powered by the latest generation Doosan DL06V diesel engine, providing a power output of 131kW (176hp) at 1,800 rev/min. The new engine meets Stage V emission regulations without the use of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) by boosting the quantity of air available during combustion, increasing the temperature of the process and reducing the number of particulates produced.

These key benefits, when combined with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), diesel particulate filter (DPF) and selective catalyst reduction (SCR) after-treatment technologies, ensure minimal emissions. DPF maintenance is also reduced, with no servicing required until the excavator has operated for 8,000h.

As well as the fuel-efficient DL06V engine, other innovative next-generation features have been added to increase productivity and fuel economy of the DX245NHD-7 excavator, including a hydraulic main valve and Doosan’s Smart Power Control (SPC3) system. The operation is able to set the power mode (P+, P, S or E) in both one-way and two-way working modes.

The enhanced cab in the DX245NHD-7 takes operator comfort and ease of operation to the next level, ensuring total controllability and high precision in all applications. Key features in the cab include: an 8in LCD touchscreen as standard, a keyless start system; LED lights; and optional 360-degree safety cameras and ultrasonic detection of obstacles.

There is also a new ‘Tiltrotator’ mode in the DX245NHD-7, which can be selected to ensure an optimised hydraulic flow whilst maximizing the accuracy of tiltrotator work by eliminating back pressure.

Another standard new feature is the ‘Fine Swing’ function which minimizes the shaking that a lifted object undergoes at the start or stop of a swing movement of the machine; increasing the safety of nearby workers and preventing damage caused by the object falling from the excavator.

Designed to maximize mobile plant productivity and efficiency, the DX245NHD-7 is factory-installed with the DoosanConnect telematics system which provides real-time data monitoring on the excavator’s operational performance, location and availability.
