Conexpo-Con/Agg 2020: Powerscreen to show new hybrid screen and latest digital offerings

Powerscreen Chieftain 1700X hybrid screener

Chieftain 1700X model to take centre stage alongside existing Powerscreen jaw crusher and radial stockpiling conveyor

POWERSCREEN will be showcasing their latest Chieftain 1700X hybrid screen alongside the existing Premiertrak 600XL jaw crusher and CT75R tracked radial stockpiling conveyor at Conexpo-Con/Agg 2020.

The Chieftain 1700X mobile screen boasts an aggressive screenbox with a patented four-bearing, two-deck drive system. The 16ft x 5ft screenbox on the new hybrid machine maintains the same screenbox size and mesh of the current Chieftain 1700 model, but with an increase in both screening force and angle which, when combined, delivers superior aggregate processing.

A number of plant changes have been implemented in response to customer feedback, including changing the way the fines conveyor is suspended for easy transportation; and self-tensioning side conveyor sealing rubber and feed-boot improvements for quick machine setup.

The Powerscreen hybrid option on the Chieftain 1700X has been designed to give customers an alternative energy source to operate their range of screening equipment.

The machine is fitted with an electric/hydraulic drive system that can be connected to an external electricity supply once the machine has been set up on site, reducing fuel consumption and operating costs. The new hybrid screen is also suitable for areas where environmental, legislative and noise constraints are present.

Other operational benefits of the Chieftain 1700X include: a hydraulic folding extended auxiliary conveyor that allows easy recirculation with a Powerscreen crusher; and the ability to change and run the conveyor in reverse, effectively turning the machine into a two-deck screen and optimizing its versatility.

Launched at Hillhead 2018, the Preimertrak 600XL jaw crusher features a unique XL feeder designed for maximum strength and durability, particularly for large quarrying applications where hard rock may be present or large tonnages are required.

The diesel-hydraulic and diesel-electric variants of the Premiertrak 600XL crusher help deliver optimum production and performance with increased uptime and lower running costs for the plant operator.

The high-capacity jaw is fed by a vibrating grizzly feeder with variable speed control and a large grizzly area to maximize the removal of fine material, extending the wear life of the jaw plates within the crusher chamber.

The bypass chute is fitted with wear-resistant liners as standard and incorporates an adjustable five-position deflector plate to divert material to either the product conveyor or side conveyors.

The machine controls incorporate a modern state-of-the-art interface with intuitive graphics and high-resolution display for ease of operation. There is an automatic start/stop and diagnostic and machine adjustment capability. For optimum performance, the speed of the jaw crusher on the Premiertrak 600XL can be varied to suit the application and feed materials.

The Premiertrak 600E electric variant is equipped with an oversize genset designed to run another plant, such as the larger Powerscreen Warrior 1400XE heavy-duty scalping screen. The 600E jaw crusher itself can also be powered from a mains source, reducing running costs and environmental impact.

Powerscreen say the mobility and flexibility of their conveyors help reduce or eliminate the use of a wheel loader for stockpiling on site, significantly reducing fuel, labour and maintenance costs. The CT75R tracked radial conveyor has the versatility to cater for a wide range of material handling applications, thanks to a variety of additional options to meet the individual needs of each customer.

These include: an overband magnet; dust-suppression solutions; and radio remote control to start/stop the feeder and raise/lower the discharge conveyor.

As well as the machines on display, Powerscreen will also be showcasing their technological advancements in telematics, such as the Pulse remote-monitoring unit and OMNI, a safety control system that was launched last year.
