Finning sponsor employees for Movember

Caterpillar machines don moustaches as Finning sponsor more than 150 employees for Movember

A MOUSTACHED machine display has been turning heads on the A5 in Cannock this month as Cat equipment distributors Finning show their support for the hairy month of Movember.

As well as giving a moustache-makeover to three Cat articulated dumptrucks and literally ‘flying the Movember flag’ outside the company’s headquarters, Finning have sponsored over 150 of their employees taking part in raising funds and awareness for men’s health.

Halfway into the hairy challenge, the company’s Movember Network total stood at more than £10,000 for the annual fundraiser, which donates proceeds to fund programmes for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.

Commenting on the company’s fundraising activities, Finning’s Equipment Solutions business manager, Lee Andrews, said: ‘Our business is supportive of a range of charities, including Breast Cancer Campaign’s ‘Wear It Pink’, which we support each year. Given that 80% of our workforce is male, we thought it was time to redress the balance this year and boost our support for Movember.

‘A number of our employees taking part have been touched in some way by the men’s health issues highlighted by Movember, so it’s great that we can come together as a business and try to make a difference.

‘I’ve noticed the moustaches around the company have been attracting attention so hopefully it’ll get people talking about issues that many men normally shy away from. With us all coming together to support each other in raising awareness, it becomes easier to openly discuss men’s health issues with colleagues.’
