Blast proof

Parker Plant have supplied a specially designed impact crusher to the HALO Trust - a non-political, non-religious British charity that specializes in the removal of the debris of war - for mine-clearance work in Kosovo.

The company's brief was to provide an impact crusher capable of withstanding explosions within the crushing chamber and able to handle demolition materials containing unexploded shells, mines and detonators to produce a finished product of -20mm, thereby ensuring the processing of all explosive devices. A similar machine was supplied to the Trust in 1999 for use in Afghanistan. According to HALO, both machines are still in one piece and working well.
