Another new fleet of Volvos for Central Demolition

Volvo L150H wheel loader

Latest package of machines for Scottish recycling firm include excavators and L150H wheel loader

CENTRAL Demolition have invested in more new Volvo equipment, including purchasing their largest loading shovel to date – a L150H.

‘Volvo excavators and loading shovels are top-class products in terms of reliability, performance and operator acceptance,’ commented Murray Brodie, fleet and plant service manager for Central Demolition.

‘For example, our ten-year old L90F has clocked up over 21,000 hours on its original powertrain components and hasn’t put a foot wrong, so choosing an L90H last year and this latest package of Volvo machines as our workload increases, was a simple one.’

The new fleet of Volvo excavators includes: a 14-tonne EC140E complete with dozer blade; a 22-tonne EC220E; and a 30-tonne EC300E equipped with secondary demolition options. Two L110H loading shovels have also been supplied and the demolition firm’s L150H is complete with a 4.5 cubic-metre rehandling bucket.

Both the EC140E and L110H will be deployed on processing materials at Central Demolition’s Bonnybridge recycling facility, while the other machines will be used on demolition contracts across the UK.

The machines join around a dozen Volvo excavators (8-46 tonne) all specified for demolition duties and high-reach applications, along with Volvo loading shovels. Central Demolition operate around 120 items of mobile equipment, as well as 32 lorries, including articulated lorries, low loaders and 8x4 rigid tippers.
