Ammann plants for Aggregate Industries

In an ongoing association, the Ammann Group are to supply two identical batch-mix asphalt plants for Aggregate Industries' London region. The plants - one at Croydon and one at Wembley - are being supplied from the Ammann S.I.M. factory in Verona, Italy, via Ammann UK Ltd in Bath.

Both will be of the conventional discontinuous type, equipped with recycled additive systems as well as other additive equipment, and each will have insulated, load-cell mounted finished-product storage silos for rapid load-out and fast customer service. In both cases, plant control will be via Ammann's state-of-the-art computer control system, which is now in operation on some 800 Ammann process plants worldwide.

In addition, owing to their urban locations, each plant will be enclosed within an environmentally friendly sheet-steel structure, as will the cold-feed systems and mixed-material storage silos.

The first of the two plants is due to commence production before the end of this year, with the second scheduled to follow in early 2001.
