Supplier Day

Aggregate Industries continue to demonstrate commitment to sustainability at upcoming Supplier Day

ON Monday, Aggregate Industries will be hosting suppliers and hauliers from across the business at a Supplier Day prior to World Environment Day (Tuesday 5 June) and will focus on climate and circular economy-related challenges and opportunities.

As one of the founding partners of the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS), Aggregate Industries work with their suppliers and with other leading businesses to share best practices and provide guidance, in order to improve standards of performance across the entire construction supply chain.

During the event, Terry Ellis, sustainable procurement manager at Balfour Beatty, will be sharing his thoughts on climate and circular economy issues and how they are tackling it through their supply chain.

Throughout the day there will be participation from suppliers discussing what sustainable initiatives they have to offer and how the wider supply chain can collaborate together to create a greater impact.

Donna Hunt, head of sustainability at Aggregate Industries, commented: ‘Our Supplier Day events allow us to better understand the climate-related issues that our customers, our suppliers and the wider industry faces.

‘Together, by sharing our experiences, our challenges and ideas, we can then collaboratively employ technologies and best-practice approaches that will benefit everyone by reducing the use of energy, decarbonizing the energy supply and managing the ongoing costs of energy.’
