Company continuing to demonstrate commitment to combating climate change at upcoming Supplier Day

AGGREGATE Industries will further demonstrate their commitment to combating climate change at a Supplier Day on Friday 2 March 2018.

The company will be hosting suppliers and hauliers from across the business and the day will focus on climate-related challenges and opportunities.

As one of the founding partners of the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS), Aggregate Industries work with their suppliers and other leading businesses to share best practices and provide guidance, in order to improve standards of performance across the entire construction supply chain.

During the event, Graham Edgell, director of sustainability and procurement at UK construction and regeneration group Morgan Sindall, will be sharing his thoughts on climate issues and how Morgan Sindall are tackling them through their supply chain.

In addition, James Cadman from the SCSS will facilitate a carbon-footprint workshop, in which he will share practical advice on how to combat this growing problem.

Throughout the day there will be participation from suppliers discussing what sustainable initiatives they have to offer and how the wider supply chain can collaborate together to create a greater impact.

Donna Hunt, head of sustainability at Aggregate Industries, commented: ‘Our Supplier Day events allow us to better understand the climate-related issues that our customers, our suppliers and the wider industry faces.

‘Together, by sharing our experiences, our challenges and ideas, we can then collaboratively employ technologies and best-practice approaches that will benefit everyone by reducing the use of energy, decarbonizing the energy supply and managing the ongoing costs of energy.’
