Wide-area electronic sounder
THE latest addition to the E2S AlertAlarm series of high-performance electronic sounders is the new A131. With a sound output of up to 131dB, the unit has been specifically designed for use in quarries and industrial, construction and civil engineering sites, as well as many other situations where a warning has to be broadcast across a wide area.
The A131 has an effective range of over 250m and can be fitted with a number of control options including radio control, which allows a complete system with multiple activation points and siren locations to be created quickly and cost-effectively, as cabling does not have to be laid around the site.
The three-stage A131 offers 45 distinct tones, so it can give different warnings for blasting, fire, evacuation, security alerts etc. The tone menu includes realistic siren, hooter and bell simulations, which are indistinguishable from those produced by traditional electro-mechanical devices but at much lower energy requirements.
Based on proven high-efficiency horn designs, the A131 utilizes a 100W pressure driver to generate its high output and can be used as a single unit or in clusters of four to provide omni-directional sound output.
The unit can be powered from 24V DC, 115V AC or 230V AC, with low current draw at all operating voltages. Battery backup is offered as an option, ensuring that alarms can still be provided even in the event of a power failure.
