Volvo E-series for RMC

Volvo have supplied a new L220E 30-tonne wheel loader to RMC Aggregates to work at their Hartley Quarry in Cumbria.

The L220E is now the prime mover at the quarry where it handles some 1,000 tonnes of blasted limestone in a 10h shift. Equipped with a V-lip rock bucket and Michelin XLDD2A L5 tyres, the machine is also fitted out to RMC’s specification requirements. These include: a Groeneveld twin-greasing system; quick-release colour camera/monitor, in conjunction with Convex mirrors to give all-round visibility; and blue Xenon strobe lights for use when reversing.
