Laura O’Neill-Kaumo to lead advocacy efforts for the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association

VETERAN lobbyist Laura O’Neill-Kaumo will lead advocacy efforts for the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association as the group’s new senior vice-president of government and regulatory affairs.

She comes to National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) from the Owner Operator Independent Driver’s Association (OOIDA), a transportation user group and valuable ally in NSSGA’s effort to improve the nation’s infrastructure.

‘Improving and modernizing our transportation infrastructure is something that I am deeply passionate about, and I am excited to join NSSGA,’ she said.

‘Quarries produce the very building blocks of not only our country’s roads and bridges, but our homes, offices, schools, hospitals and communities. Rebuilding our infrastructure improves our economy and employs thousands of people in good-paying jobs.’

Michael W. Johnson, NSSGA’s president and chief executive officer, said Ms O’Neill-Kaumo’s impressive experience would enhance the Association’s ability to advance industry-critical policy at a crucial time.

‘Rocks build America, and President Trump’s call for a US$1 trillion investment is a very real opportunity for our industry. Laura joins our team at the perfect time to help advance a significant infrastructure bill and influence an ever-changing regulatory environment,’ he remarked.
