"Foster Yeoman have adopted a new approach to tyre handling on their fleet of Caterpillar 777D dumptrucks at Glensanda by utilizing a Cat TH83 telehandler rather than a fork-lift truck. The company are maximizing the telehandler’s up-time by using up to 20 different attachments, including this custom-built tyre handler designed by Universal Hydraulics in conjunction with Cat dealers Finning (UK) Ltd. Operators at the site say new tyre handler provides increased stability, visibility and productivity, as well as minimizing the risk of injury owing to the precise nature of the attachment."

"In support of the industry’s stance, the Conservatives have tabled an amendment to remove the aggregates tax from the Finance Bill, while the Liberal Democrats have tabled a new clause which would have the effect of introducing a scheme of tax rebates for operators demonstrating good environmental performance. Many individual Labour MPs have also supported the industry’s concerns about the tax."
