TowerLight’s lighting and dust-suppression sets get ready for Hillhead

Dust-fighter dust suppression unit

Range of commercial lighting systems and dust-suppression equipment to feature on TowerLight and DF Ecology stand

TowerLight, market-leading manufacturers of commercial lighting systems, alongside their sister division DF Ecology, are exhibiting examples from their lighting and dust-suppression range at the forthcoming Hillhead show.

Dust pollution in quarries, mines and on demolition sites, has long been a perennial problem for the industry, especially in urban areas and during the summer months. To help combat this environmental condition, TowerLight and DF Ecology have developed the Dust-fighter range. Dust-fighters produce a fine mist of water through a series of high-pressure jets with the spray propelled onto the site by a powerful fan, covering a wide area in just a few moments. This assists to render the area free from unhealthy and hazardous material.

Under the spotlight on the stand will be two of TowerLight’s Dust-fighters – a self-contained unit powered from an on-board, super-silenced generator and the Dust-fighter 2000, a three-phase electric set.

Paul Hay, TowerLight’s UK director, said: ‘With health and safety officials, throughout Europe and beyond, stringently enforcing the control of hazardous material on sites, the demand for the dust control units are set grow rapidly. We are currently expanding our Dust-fighter range into the international markets and we will be seeking to continue this expansion through the overseas visitors that come to Hillhead.’

Also on display will be TowerLight’s VB9-LED, a LED site lighting tower, loaded with environmentally biased and cost-saving features. A significant number of UK leading construction rental firms have already invested in TowerLight’s VB9 which, according to the company, reduces fuel usage by 72% by simply utilizing a smaller diesel engine combined with a series of electronics. Importantly, the metal halide lighting output of the VB9 is not compromised and remains at HSE recommended levels. Visitors to the TowerLight stand can view the VB9 and discover for themselves how the VB9 can significantly reduce their client’s running costs.

Set alongside the VB9-LED, will be a new lighting unit just introduced to the UK market - the VT8000. The VT8000 has been developed to operate in arduous environments such as quarries, costal and tropical situations. The set is fitted with an individually designed, whisper-quiet canopy, protected by a toughened, treated surface, fitted with safe lockable doors. The VT8000 features a strengthened 75-litre capacity metal fuel tank, delivering over 30h of continuous operation between refuelling, with on-site stability assured via three fully adjustable stabilizers. Wide, bright and dependable illumination coverage is delivered through four 1,000W metal halide lamps fitted to a manually operated 8m vertical mast. There is a safe auto-braking system and useful 340 degree rotation.

Many in the UK construction, mining and quarrying industries will already be familiar with the best-selling TowerLight VT1 lighting tower; however for the remaining unenlightened, TowerLight will be displaying an example of their latest variant of this award-winning lighting unit.

The TowerLight team are looking forward to meeting with customers old and new and are keen to explain the cost-saving and wider environmental benefits of their expanding lighting and dust-suppression equipment.
