Tarmac open new concrete facility
Tarmac have opened a new concrete plant in Coventry, bringing the prospect of more efficient services for customers in the region. The facility, built alongside its 30-year-old predecessor, has the capacity to store up to 400 tonnes of aggregates, five times more than the old plant, which has completely eliminated the need for ground storage.
It can also hold around 180 tonnes of cementitious material and benefits from the use of modern silo-protection equipment to help prevent dust emissions. The plant has a production output of 70m3/h (compared with 42m3/h for the previous facility) and is capable of producing specialist products, including Topflow HZ and Toproc.
