Graduates and higher apprentices helping to shape future of the business at new Future Leaders conference

FOLLOWING the successful launch of its 2018 apprenticeship scheme, Tarmac are continuing to build on their commitment to developing employees by hosting a new event to support the career ambitions of colleagues and inspire the next generation of construction leaders.

The Future Leaders conference, being held from 20–21 March at Alton Towers, brings together the company’s graduates and higher apprentices, past and present.

They will join forces to network, share best practice and sector experience, and take part in mentoring sessions and professional workshops to help develop ideas to shape the future of the business.

Participants will also hear from some inspirational speakers and use their skills and collaborative thinking to tackle a series of interactive team-building activities.

Martin Riley, senior vice-president of Tarmac, said: ‘Our people are what set Tarmac apart, and it’s great to be able to spend time with our employees to grow their potential and get their views on steering the direction of this business.

‘These are the people who will lead the future of our industry, so this is a wonderful opportunity to tap into their ideas and equip them with the skills they need to succeed.

‘I hope that this conference will become a regular feature of our events calendar and I look forward to watching them grow their careers and ambitions with us.’

The conference is the latest element of Tarmac’s wide range of professional development initiatives aimed at creating a talented, diverse and highly skilled workforce for the future.

In partnership with renowned industry bodies and leading educational institutions, the company has invested in professional and technical training programmes to allow employees to fulfil their skills potential, with over 75 members of staff enrolled on diploma or degree programmes.
