Stone work

"The first E-series L330 wheel loader delivered in the UK has been supplied to Hanson Bath & Portland Stone where it has been put to work as their prime mover, extracting and handling blocks of Portland stone at the company’s sites on the Isle of Portland."

"The 50-tonne machine has been specially equipped with heavy-duty block-handling forks, supplied by Norwegian attachments manufacturer Gjerstad, and is capable of handling blocks up to 12m3 in size. In addition, hose-rupture valves have been installed on the twin boom and twin bucket cylinders and a Prolec TMI system fitted for weighing the stone blocks."

"As well as taking charge of initial extraction operations, the L330E will also handle and sort the blocks at the company’s sites, which have an annual throughput of around 30,000m3."
