Siemens bring IDS roadshow to the UK

Integrated Drive Systems roadshow

Tour to illustrate added value of Integrated Drive Systems across the aggregates and mining industries

SIEMENS UK & Ireland are going on tour next month with their Integrated Drive Systems (IDS) roadshow. The tour is designed to demonstrate how IDS offers a one-stop solution that can increase productivity, reliability and efficiency for the aggregates and mining industries.

The mobile exhibition will feature application-specific exhibits and live demonstrations to illustrate the competitive advantage to be gained from implementing matched drive and automation components.

Visiting seven locations across the UK, the tour launches on 2 July in Cambridge and will finish in Aberdeen on 22 July. On each day the roadshow will host three sessions in the morning and three in the afternoon. These will focus on IDS in conjunction with conveyor technology, bulk material handling, and pumps, fans and compressors.

There will also be opportunities for more in-depth discussion around key issues such as IE3 and energy efficiency, and integrated safety.

According to Siemens, IDS can deliver efficiencies and ensure optimal performance and safety across a number of technologies, including: vertical mills; pumps, fans and compressors; and conveyor technology.

Jason Peel, head of IDS strategy at Siemens UK & Ireland, commented: ‘The IDS tour focuses on the benefits of a systematic, three-pronged approach to integration – the core element of IDS. We will be showing how our comprehensive integration portfolio can deliver numerous benefits, including faster commissioning, greater reliability and reduced maintenance costs.

‘The exhibition is designed to help those looking for new ways to deal with increasingly complex industrial challenges. At Siemens UK & Ireland, we are dedicated to simplifying these challenges by delivering innovative solutions such as IDS.’

The roadshow will also provide advice and guidance on the services available to support IDS, including financial assistance, preventative condition monitoring, and training. In addition, a bulk material handling demonstration application will showcase value-added benefits on roadshows two and five.
