Hanson become the first UK heavy building materials company to be awarded ISO 45003:2021

HANSON have become the first UK heavy building materials company to reach the standard for managing psychosocial risk in the workplace.

The company has been awarded ISO 45003:2021, occupational health and safety management – psychological health and safety at work, reflecting its ongoing commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of its employees.

 

The award demonstrates that Hanson have achieved the required standard for managing psychosocial risks and promoting well-being at work as part of an occupational health and safety management system.

Psychosocial risks relate to how work is organized; social factors at work; and aspects of the work environment, equipment, and hazardous tasks.

‘We are delighted to be leading the way with our commitment to health and safety,’ said sustainability director Marian Garfield.

‘Effective management of psychosocial risks can lead to improved engagement and job satisfaction, as well as promoting physical and mental health and well-being.
