Hydraflow Hydraulics seen as key strategic addition to Rubix’s existing engineering and services centres

RUBIX UK have announced the acquisition of specialist hydraulics services suppliers Hydra Engineering Services (Hydraflow Hydraulics), who specialize in the repair and reconditioning of large cylinders and offer expertise in MRO services, including on-site fault-finding and testing of hydraulic pumps, power pack refurbishment, build and custom design, as well as valve repair.

Based in Gloucester, Somerset, with an additional site in Newport, South Wales, Hydraflow Hydraulics have a team of 18 skilled hydraulic engineers and achieved sales of £.2.7 million for the year ended 30 June 2019.

Reporting to Nigel Banks, managing director of Rubix UK’s Services Division, Stuart Parker will continue in his role as managing director of Hydraflow Hydraulics, who will operate as an independent specialist hydraulic repair division.

For Rubix UK, part of Europe’s largest supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul products and services, the acquisition is expected to bring significant opportunities to their customers, particularly in relation to condition-monitoring services, hydraulic repair and technical expertise.

Hydraflow Hydraulics will establish a centre of excellence for hydraulics, acting as a key strategic addition to Rubix’s existing engineering and services centres. They will also further support and underline Rubix UK’s position as the leading multi-specialist industrial supplies distributor and provider of value-added expert engineering services.

Mark Dixon, chief executive officer of Rubix UK, said: ‘This acquisition further enhances Rubix as a multi-specialist supplier and supports our ambition to be recognized for our hydraulic products, services and expertise – a market we have identified as a key growth area for the UK business.

‘My colleagues and I would like to welcome the Hydraflow Hydraulics team and their customers and suppliers to the Rubix family, as we work together to provide our customers across the UK with a comprehensive hydraulic services offering.’

Stuart Parker, managing director of Hydraflow Hydraulics, added: ‘Our expertise combined with Rubix UK’s existing multi-specialist approach and reach will help us to grow outside of our current geographical footprint and extend our expertise across the UK. We are really looking forward to working on these opportunities as a part of the Rubix family.’
