Rockfall in Quarries

Rockfall in Quarries conference

Next month EIG Conferences will host one-day CPD training event on this extractive industry hot topic

FOLLOWING the success of the Extractive Industry Geology Conference at Edge Hill in September 2012, the EIG organizing committee has arranged an intra-year, one-day CPD training event on ‘Rockfall in Quarries’ on Wednesday 19 June 2013, at the Heritage Motor Centre, near Gaydon, Warwickshire, ahead of the flagship EIG 2014 Conference in St Andrews, Fife.

Recent themes at the main EIG conferences in Portsmouth and Edge Hill have shown that rockfall in quarries has become a hot topic throughout the extractive industry, affecting operators, designers and regulators, including the HSE.

To address the latest developments in this field, the EIG organizing committee has invited a team of experienced speakers to provide informed expert advice and opinion on a range of themes, ranging from the background of rockfall issues, regulations and basic geological and geotechnical considerations to appraisal, risk assessment, surveying and face treatment.

The event has been designed to cater for around 80 delegates and will cost £80 per person, including lunch and refreshments. Further information can be obtained via the EIG website: www.eigconferences.com
