REA Council appointment for Paul Goosey
Eurovia UK’s managing director of production confirmed as a director of the Road Emulsion Association
PAUL Goosey, Eurovia UK’s managing director of production, has been confirmed as a director of the Road Emulsion Association (REA) after PolyBitumens was fully accepted as a new member of the trade association, representing the manufacturing and production of polymer-modified bitumen emulsion products in the UK.
The REA promotes the interests of members, who manufacture, supply and distribute bituminous emulsion materials throughout the UK.
As a member of the REA, PolyBitumens will now be able to contribute to the Association’s representations to the Government on policy matters which affect businesses that produce and supply polymer-modified bitumen emulsion products used in the highway, airfield and infrastructure sectors.
Mr Goosey (pictured), who was approved as a new REA council member representing PolyBitumens following a meeting earlier this month, said: ‘I am delighted that PolyBitumens have already been recognized by the REA, which confirmed our membership on the same day as the official opening of our new plant in Thurrock on 6 March.
‘As a full REA Council member, I will be able to represent our new production business and play a key role in informing and responding to Government policy and decisions which will impact the whole of the bitumen emulsion production industry and our wider highways-related businesses.’
The REA is currently involved in key activities for the polymer-modified bitumen emulsion industry, such as the development of industry safe working procedures jointly with the Road Surface Treatment Association (RSTA), a joint REA/RSTA promotional surface-dressing training video, and engaging with the Department for Transport for policies covering the legal transportation of mobile storage tanks.
The REA also retains a strong technical presence and representation to the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) on behalf of the UK industry.
