Rapid twin-shaft mixer chosen to produce concrete for major oil refinery project in Saudi Arabia

A TWIN-shaft concrete mixer manufactured by Rapid International Ltd has been installed by distributors Al-Kifah to produce 1,560 cubic metres of concrete for one of the most important oil refinery projects in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

According to Rapid International, their twin-shaft mixer unit was chosen over competitors’ models because of its special bearing design and durable inner wear chamber.

Installation of the mixer at the batching plant in Jubail has greatly increased concrete production, and distributors Al-Kifah say they are fully confident that the quality of the concrete produced will meet the high standards required by their customer.

Al-Kifah have also installed a Rapid Jetwash RJW2 two-pump washout system to accompany the mixer unit. This high-pressure system reduces mixer washing time from an average of 45min to a 4min single cycle or an 8min double cycle, while also reducing the safety risks associated with staff having to manually clean out the mixer.

Al-Kifah, who are themselves a well established batching plant manufacturer, have been distributing Rapid products in the Middle East for more than 15 years. They say the twin-shaft concrete mixer has become a popular choice with many contractors across the region due to its faster mixing times and compact design, which takes up less space on a mixer platform and allows it to fit easily into a mobile concrete plant.
