Rapid International introduce the Trakmix mixing plant

Trakmix continuous mixing plant

Fully mobile continuous mixing plant offers high output, enhanced mobility and operational flexibility

RAPID International have unveiled their latest Trakmix high-volume continuous mixing plant at a recent open day event, which was held at the company’s Co. Armagh headquarters.

The new plant was designed in response to growing customer demand for a fully mobile and self-contained unit that offers easy and cost-effective transportation, eliminating the need for special transportational permits.

Rapid customers also indicated a need for a machine that could provide more output options on a different platform, as well as operating in a wide range of site types and applications.

The Trakmix plant is said to be the first of its kind in the UK market with patent pending features including: an integral automated control system delivering full weighing capabilities; and a double hopper cement weighing unit. The machine is also equipped with low-friction surface lining on hoppers, a bottom conveyor for easy cleanout and an out-loading conveyor for efficient discharge.

For mobile flexibility and easy set-up, the Trakmix plant features an entirely self-contained design mounted on tracks with an on-board genset for independent power supply.

The mixing plant offers an output of up to 250 tonnes/h through a high-volume continuous Rapid twin-shaft mixer and 12 cubic metre-capacity hopper, which comes with a division plate for two different types of aggregates.

According to Rapid, the twin-shaft continuous pugmill mixer is the largest and most efficient system of its type on the market. It incorporates specifically designed phased shafts and paddles so the mixer can be worked in a variety of applications within the concrete, construction and environmental industries.

Adjustable feeder gates from the aggregate bins are provided in addition to a variable speed belt feeder for the aggregate weight belt. Powders are fully weighed via the twin hopper system with twin-screw discharge, while a flow meter provides water-management. An integral 600-litre water tank and provision for admixtures are also included as standard.

The new Trakmix plant is recommended for applications where all types of binders or neutralizing powders are required in the mixing process, such as road construction and paving, ground works/civil engineering, environmental stabilization projects and recycled aggregates.
